How to Write a Thank-You Email After an Interview

TL;DR: Send it within 24 hours, and make it specific enough that it couldn't have been sent to a different company.

Reference a specific moment

Mention a particular topic discussed, not a generic "thank you for your time."

Reaffirm fit briefly

One sentence connecting the conversation back to why you're a strong fit is enough — this isn't a second cover letter.

Send individual notes for panel interviews

If you met with multiple people, a short, slightly different note to each shows genuine attentiveness rather than one copied message.
