How to Ask for a LinkedIn Recommendation
TL;DR: A specific ask gets a specific, useful recommendation — a vague ask gets a generic one.
Be specific about what to highlight
Instead of "could you write me a recommendation," suggest a specific project or skill you'd like them to speak to.
Make it easy
Offer to remind them of specific details from your work together, since most people are happy to help but need the memory jog.
