How to Follow Up When You Haven't Heard Back

TL;DR: One polite follow-up is reasonable; repeated messages usually backfire.

Wait at least a week

Following up too quickly can come across as impatient rather than enthusiastic.

Keep it short and low-pressure

"Just wanted to check in on the status of my application — happy to provide any additional information" is enough. Avoid sounding demanding.
