How to Handle "Have You Ever Been Convicted of a Felony?"
TL;DR: Know your rights, answer honestly where required, and know that many employers are more focused on relevance and recency than the fact of a record itself.

Many states and cities have "ban the box" laws restricting when this question can be asked. Understand your local regulations.
If asked, answer honestly and briefly
Provide a factual, brief answer without over-explaining, and if appropriate, briefly note what's changed since.
