Systems Engineer (On-site, Milwaukee, WI or Lincoln, NE)
An opportunity has come through our network for a Systems Engineer at a leading organization specializing in data processing and IT operations. This is a contract position for a detail-oriented professional to join the Technical Production Control department. You will be instrumental in supporting critical client operations in a multi-platform environment that includes both Unisys and IBM systems. This role is for a problem-solver who can work collaboratively in a dynamic setting. The position is on-site, with a choice of location in either Milwaukee, WI, or Lincoln, NE.
This job is centered on the core functions of computer operations and data processing. You will be responsible for creating, testing, and implementing job code while strictly adhering to change control practices. A key part of your role will be processing incoming requests using specific job control languages like WFL, CL, and AJS. You will be on the front lines of troubleshooting, assisting in the research and resolution of problem situations in an efficient and timely manner. Your ability to ensure all deadlines are met with accurate and timely job code processing is essential to maintaining smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities and Required Skills
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Job Code Management: Create, test, and implement job code in accordance with change control practices.
- Request Processing: Process incoming requests using WFL, CL, and AJS job control languages.
- Troubleshooting: Assist in researching and resolving problem situations efficiently.
- Operational Support: Ensure all deadlines are met with accurate and timely job code processing.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a team environment to support operational goals.
To be successful, you should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in data processing with a specific emphasis on Computer Operations. A two-year degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of basic programming logic and experience with IBM AJS/CL jobs and Unisys Computer Operations and WFL jobs is preferred. You should also be proficient in using a keyboard and reading video display monitors.
