​CorVel is seeking a Systems Administrator II responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operations of servers and virtualization within their hybrid environment. This role is highly collaborative, working closely with developers, coordinators, and the support team to manage internally developed applications and infrastructure.

  • Location: Portland, OR, USA (Open to Remote or Hybrid work)
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in systems administration in hybrid enterprise environments.
  • Focus: Automation using PowerShell, CI/CD pipeline management using Azure DevOps, monitoring, performance tuning, and contributing to security posture in environments running Windows Server and .NET applications.

​Essential Functions: Automation, DevOps, and Hybrid Management

​The administrator’s duties are centered on scripting, managing the release lifecycle, and proactive monitoring across both cloud and on-premise infrastructure.

  • Automation & Scripting: Design, implement, and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell (strong skills required) and other languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Application & Deployment: Administer and maintain CorVel’s internally developed applications and infrastructure, including server builds, deployments, monitoring, and performance tuning.
  • DevOps/CI/CD: Manage software releases using DevOps and deployment pipelines. Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and other automation tools.
  • Monitoring & Security: Monitor cloud and on-premise environments, configure alerts, and proactively address system vulnerabilities and performance issues. Contribute to security posture improvements and compliance.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project delivery and system reliability.

​Required Skills and Knowledge: Azure and Windows Server

  • Experience: 2+ years in systems administration.
  • OS & Applications: Proficiency in managing Windows Server 2019+ and .NET/web applications.
  • Cloud & DevOps:
    • ​Experience with Azure Core resources (Storage, Networking, Compute, and Serverless).
    • ​Knowledge of infrastructure as code and Azure resource deployment (especially PaaS).
    • ​Familiarity with source control systems (Git, TFS) and CI/CD tools.
  • Certifications (Knowledge/Preferred): Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Network+, Security+.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
