System Administrator – Hybrid Cloud & Endpoint Management (Azure/Intune SME)

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient System Administrator to manage and optimize a hybrid cloud infrastructure and modern endpoint environment. This role demands deep expertise in Microsoft Azure and significant hands-on experience with Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune).
This is a Contract-to-Hire position located in Atlanta, Georgia.
Key Responsibilities: Cloud, Endpoint, and Leadership
The ideal candidate will be a technical leader, mentoring junior staff while ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of core IT systems with a heavy focus on Microsoft technologies.
Cloud & Server Infrastructure (Microsoft Azure Focus):
- Administration & Optimization: Design, implement, configure, and maintain Microsoft Azure core services (Compute, Storage, Networking, Security, Monitoring) .
- Identity Management: Expertly manage and troubleshoot hybrid identity solutions using Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) and traditional Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), including SSO and conditional access.
- Networking: Configure and maintain VNets, NSGs, VPNs, and ExpressRoute for secure cloud connectivity.
- Automation: Utilize PowerShell and Azure CLI to automate repetitive tasks and manage resource deployments.
Endpoint Management (Intune/MEM Focus):
- MDM/MAM Administration: Serve as the subject matter expert for Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) for mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM).
- Device Lifecycle: Configure and manage the lifecycle of corporate endpoints (Windows, iOS, Android) using Intune, including Autopilot, configuration profiles, and compliance policies.
- Troubleshooting: Provide Tier 3 escalation support for complex endpoint, access, and application issues related to Intune and Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
General System Administration & Leadership:
- Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior IT staff and support teams.
- Project Leadership: Lead infrastructure projects, including system upgrades and cloud migrations.
- Support: Participate in an on-call rotation for critical escalations.
Required Experience and Technical Skills
This is not an entry-level role; it requires significant, specialized experience in the Microsoft ecosystem.
- Experience: Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in IT.
- Azure Expertise: 4+ years of expert-level experience managing complex environments in Microsoft Azure.
- Intune Expertise: Proven experience (2+ years strongly preferred) with Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune), including enrollment, deployment, and policy creation.
- Automation: Expert proficiency with PowerShell for administration, automation, and reporting.
- Foundational Knowledge: Deep functional understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), DNS, DHCP, and Windows Server OS.
- Preferred Certifications: Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate AZ-104, Endpoint Administrator, or similar).
