Splunk DevOps Engineer / Cloud Strategy Lead (W2 Contract, Remote)
The Stefanini Group is hiring a Splunk DevOps Engineer with extensive experience in JPaSS and cloud technologies for their client’s Markets Business Technology organization. This is a critical, high-impact role that will lead the development teams in cloud strategy integration and execution. The position is offered as a W2 contract across various US locations, with a focus on remote work.
This role requires a blend of senior cloud architecture, full-stack Java engineering, and specialized expertise in the Splunk platform, all within a high-velocity DevOps and Agile framework.
Key Responsibilities and Strategic Focus
You will act as a key leader, guiding technological direction, driving innovation, and anchoring Proof of Concept activities, with a primary focus on integrating web applications into the cloud.
- Cloud Strategy & Architecture: Lead and execute the cloud strategy, integrating highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud solutions using cloud principles and best practices. You will establish patterns for solutions that integrate across applications, systems, and platforms.
- Pillar Development (Java Fullstack): Highly proficient in Java Fullstack Engineering, developing and architecting solutions based on Cloud-native Architecture (12 Factor App, Microservices, Serverless, Decoupled UI with AngularJS/React).
- DevOps & CI/CD Leadership: Develop and maintain CI/CD practices (Jenkins, Deploy XL, Jira) and provide expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using OCP, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Splunk Specialization: Responsible for implementing and maintaining Splunk environments across Cloud (AWS) and on-premise solutions. This includes onboarding data, optimizing performance, troubleshooting, and developing dashboards, reports, and custom queries.
- Security & Compliance: Apply deep knowledge of Cloud Security (Shared Security Model, IAM, WAF, OWASP) and support documentation for Security Management and Implementation Plans.
- Team Leadership: Lead by example, demonstrate high performance in collaboration and reliability, and serve as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) and mentor for the development team.
Required Experience and Technical Qualifications
This is a senior-level role requiring 8+ years of broad IT experience, including substantial focus on cloud and DevOps.
- Education/Experience: Master’s Degree (or equivalent experience), with 8+ years of broad technical experience in IT/MIS. 6+ years of software development experience is required.
- Cloud Leadership: 2+ years focused on cloud architecture, design, and implementation, with a strong background in AWS services.
- Certifications: AWS Certification (Certified Developer or Solutions Architect) is a strong requirement.
- DevOps/Containerization:
- 2+ years of experience in Agile.
- 2+ years of experience deploying Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform solutions.
- 2+ years of experience deploying cloud and hybrid cloud solutions.
- Thorough knowledge and practical experience with OCP, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Programming & OS: Highly proficient in Java Fullstack Engineering and experienced in operating and maintaining a distributed Linux environment.
- Tooling Expertise: Practical experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps), monitoring (ELK, Splunk, CloudWatch), and Application Integration (RestAPI, API gateway e.g., MuleSoft).
- Finance Industry: Experience in the Finance industry or developing solutions involving financial products is a strong plus.
