The Role and Core Responsibilities

As an SRE on the MANTL team, you will focus on automation, availability, monitoring, and security within a modern, cloud-native environment. Your work will directly impact platform stability and developer enablement.

  • Infrastructure Ownership: You will own and evolve MANTL’s infrastructure, making key build vs. buy decisions and prioritizing initiatives that enhance platform stability and the developer experience.

  • Platform Reliability: Collaborate across engineering teams to improve platform reliability and empower development teams to ship high-quality software easily.
  • Integration and Partnership: Work closely with external partners and clients to overcome integration and infrastructure challenges, fueling business growth.
  • On-Call & Culture: Participate in an equitable on-call rotation supported by strong tooling and a focus on reducing toil and improving reliability.

The ideal candidate is an empathetic, strategic, and tactical engineer with deep knowledge of modern infrastructure tooling, specifically within the Google Cloud ecosystem.

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience building and supporting infrastructure using modern tooling.
  • Cloud Stack Proficiency: Hands-on experience with GCP (Google Cloud Platform), Docker, GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine), Postgres, Kafka, and Terraform (or their equivalents). Prior experience with GCP is a strong plus.
  • Programming: Proficiency in a strongly typed language (Go experience preferred or a willingness to learn).
  • DevOps Mastery: Deep understanding of Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and core DevOps principles.
  • Mindset: Must be comfortable operating at both strategic (roadmaps) and tactical (incident calls) levels, possess excellent communication skills, and maintain a strong product mindset.
