An opportunity is available for an IT Manager to lead the Applications Delivery Team for the Lands’ End Outfitters (LEO), the company’s Business-to-Business (B2B) division. This critical role is responsible for the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of the B2B e-commerce platform and its enterprise-specific customer sites.

This is a full-time position primarily conducted remotely. However, if you reside within 60 miles of the Dodgeville, WI office, you are expected to collaborate onsite in a hybrid fashion for up to four days per month.


Role Summary and B2B E-commerce Operations Mandate

This Manager will provide highly engaged leadership, focusing heavily on Operational Excellence, Service Level Agreement (SLA) management, and implementing Service Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices. The core mission is to ensure a reliable and seamless customer experience across the B2B platform while leading and mentoring a hybrid team of employees and contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Excellence & SLAs: Proactively monitor system performance, implement robust controls for system integrity, and ensure all LEO systems meet or exceed defined SLAs to minimize incidents and downtime.
  • Customer-Facing Platform Support: Oversee the technical operations of the B2B e-commerce platform and support enterprise-specific site functionality tailored to individual client needs.
  • Reliability & Improvement: Drive initiatives to reduce the volume and severity of technical incidents. Analyze trends and root causes to implement long-term solutions, embedding an SRE mindset across e-commerce product teams.
  • Team Leadership & Delivery: Lead and manage the Applications Delivery Team (employees and contractors) using Agile methodology to execute the technical roadmap. Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Contribution: Contribute to the evolution and potential consolidation of e-commerce platforms and collaborate cross-functionally to align technology initiatives with business goals.
  • People Management: Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to team members. Manage recruitment, conduct performance evaluations, and coordinate professional development programs.

Required Experience and Qualifications

The ideal candidate is an experienced IT operations leader with a background in e-commerce, proven success in driving service improvements, and strong managerial skills over complex hybrid teams.

  • Experience: 5-8 years of experience in IT operations, application support, or systems management, combined with relevant leadership roles.
  • Leadership Style: Proven leadership experience with hybrid teams (employees and contractors, onshore and offshore) and an highly engaged leadership style.
  • Operational Expertise: Demonstrated success in SLA management, incident reduction, and SRE practices.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms, the retail space, and enterprise system architecture. Experience in B2B environments is highly desirable.
  • Methodologies: Experience with Agile methodology for product delivery. Familiarity with ITIL or other service management frameworks.
  • Infrastructure: Knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure and modern DevOps practices is a plus.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s degree preferred). Professional certifications are a plus.

Additional Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of e-commerce platforms like SAP Commerce Cloud, SAP/ERP, Salesforce, or AWS.
