An executive leadership opportunity is available for a Senior Manager, Information Systems, specializing in Law and Compliance Technology at Amgen, a world leader in biotechnology focused on serious illnesses. This vital role involves leading and managing multiple technology platforms that enable efficient, compliant, and secure operations for Amgen’s Law Department.

This is a full-time, fully remote position in the United States (Thousand Oaks, CA is an additional listed location). The expected annual salary range is $162,668.00 – $195,836.00 USD, plus a comprehensive Total Rewards Plan.


Role Summary and Legal Tech Product Leadership

This Senior Manager will act as a trusted advisor to the Law Department, driving innovation and digital capabilities within the legal operations space. The core function is to lead the technical product vision, manage an Agile Product Team, and ensure the delivery and operational excellence of critical legal technology systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Vision & Roadmap: Lead the technical product vision and roadmap for Law platforms, including the Matter Management System, eBilling, Intellectual Property and Trademark Management System, and Contract Lifecycle Management Systems.
  • Agile Team Leadership: Lead the Agile Product Team (developers, analysts, and administrators) in a SAFe Agile environment. This includes leading quarterly planning, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and release coordination.
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary contact for Law Technology, partnering directly with business owners to identify business needs, prioritize projects, and translate those needs into detailed technical user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria.
  • Solution Delivery & Oversight: Oversee integrations with various platforms and enterprise systems. Manage UAT planning, test case validation, and production deployment oversight. Ensure high-quality, scalable, user-centric solutions.
  • Operational Excellence: Monitor technical performance for continuous improvement and ensure performance and operational excellence in the maintenance of products and capabilities.
  • Planning: Participate in strategic and budgetary planning processes for the Law Technology portfolio.

Required Experience and Technical Qualifications

The ideal candidate is an experienced technical product management leader with a background in complex environments, familiarity with compliance or legal technology, and proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies.

  • Experience (Required):
    • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of technical product management experience (or commensurate experience based on education level).
  • Skills & Methodologies:
    • Proven experience leading technical product development.
    • Demonstrated success working in cross-functional teams using Agile or hybrid development methodologies.
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication & Leadership:Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills; able to articulate complex product and data concepts to both business and technical audiences.
    • Proven ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Product Management or Agile/Scrum frameworks.
  • Background in life sciences, biotechnology, or Law and Compliance technology.
  • Prior experience as a Technical Product Owner or Lead Technical Business Analyst.
  • Exposure to ML/AI use cases in Law or corporate functions management contexts.
  • Familiarity with product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Experience with sourcing and managing suppliers.
