An opportunity has emerged in our network, are seeking a Security Engineer to join its Infrastructure Security team. This is a full-time, remote role available for candidates in the United States or Canada. The mission of this position is to contribute to a highly scalable and defensible cloud infrastructure by developing security solutions and ensuring the protection of critical systems and data.
Compensation and Benefits

Key Responsibilities and Focus Areas
As part of the Infrastructure Security team, you will be a hands-on engineer focused on strengthening the security posture of 1Password’s cloud environment.
- Security Development: Design, build, and maintain tooling, software, and systems specifically for securing the cloud infrastructure. Software development experience (Golang preferred) is key to this role.
- Project Delivery: Contribute to the delivery and success of infrastructure security projects that span engineering teams, working to reduce unnecessary friction while maintaining a high degree of software development velocity.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Work closely with cross-functional partners to define the best security solutions for the infrastructure and ensure the continuous improvement of the security posture against emerging threats.
Required Experience and Technical Skills
The ideal candidate is an adaptable, driven engineer who can translate complex technical and compliance requirements into engineering execution.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years combined experience as a software, infrastructure, and/or security engineer.
- Production Systems: Demonstrated success implementing, deploying, securing, and monitoring highly available, critical production systems.
- Security Domain Knowledge: Hands-on experience with various cloud infrastructure and security approaches, including:
- Service Identity
- Workload hardening
- Networking
- Authentication and Authorization
- Software supply chain
- AWS Expertise: Familiarity with AWS IAM and Identity Center, AWS Service Control Policies, and permission boundaries.
- Technology Stack: Experience with technologies used at 1Password, including AWS, Terraform, Okta, Kubernetes, and Linkerd.
- Execution: Ability to translate technical and compliance requirements into engineering execution.
