Pega DevOps Engineer (Remote, TX)
A company is seeking a talented DevOps Engineer with specialized, hands-on experience in Pega platform administration and deployment automation. This is a full-time, remote position based out of Texas, with a target salary range of $120,001 – $160,000. The role focuses on supporting migration and upgrade projects, streamlining CI/CD workflows, and integrating modern DevOps tools into the Pega ecosystem.
The successful candidate must be a US Citizen (implicit through the Public Trust requirement) and must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Key Responsibilities and Technical Focus
This role sits at the intersection of application expertise (Pega) and infrastructure automation (DevOps), with a heavy focus on modernization and reliability.
- Pega Automation & Upgrades: Automate and support deployments, upgrades, and migrations of the Pega platform (e.g., Infinity 24.x).
- CI/CD Pipeline Management: Manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Octopus Deploy, and Azure DevOps.
- DevOps Toolchain Integration: Integrate Nexus, Puppet, and Terraform Enterprise (TFE) for configuration, artifact, and infrastructure management within Pega environments.
- Modernization: Collaborate on the migration from Windows to Linux and ensure seamless containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Middleware & Integration: Work with middleware tools, including Oracle WebLogic, ESB, and SOA, to support integration, deployment, and configuration activities.
- Reliability and Security: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance, and maintain security, compliance, and integration with authentication systems (TLS 1.2+, SSO, OAuth).
Required Experience and Qualifications
This is a senior-level role requiring extensive relevant experience and platform-specific knowledge.
- Experience/Education: Master’s Degree in a technical field plus 10 years of relevant work experience (or 8 years of additional experience can substitute for the Master’s degree).
- Pega Expertise: Proven experience administering and upgrading Pega platforms (Infinity 24.x preferred).
- Automation Proficiency: Proficiency with a wide range of DevOps automation tools: Jenkins, Octopus Deploy, Azure DevOps, Nexus, Puppet, and Terraform Enterprise.
- Containerization: Solid understanding of containerization, Kubernetes, and Docker in enterprise environments.
- Scripting & Middleware: Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python) and Expertise in middleware tools (Oracle WebLogic, ESB, and SOA).
- Operational Skills: Experience with infrastructure automation, monitoring, and logging solutions.
Preferred Qualifications include experience with major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), familiarity with major web servers (Tomcat, WebLogic), databases, and load balancers, and exposure to hybrid or cloud-ready architectures and migrations.
