Network Admin Prin (Principal Network Administrator) – Cisco Infrastructure
The ESS – Shared Services sector is seeking a Network Admin Prin (Principal Network Administrator) to maintain the smooth, secure operation of a variety of data and voice networks. This senior role focuses on planning, evaluating, coordinating infrastructure installation and reconfiguration, and managing the lifecycle and security compliance of the network.
This is a Full-time, Fully Remote position with the organization based in Charlotte, North Carolina. The full-time salary range is $105,254 – $178,931. U.S. Citizenship is required.
Role Summary and Network Planning Mandate
The Network Admin Prin is expected to maintain deep technical expertise across all network, hardware, and software interconnection areas. The role involves hands-on support for all local IT infrastructure components and strategic planning for in-house systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Operations: Maintain the smooth operation of a variety of networks and provide regular monitoring and network analysis.
- Planning & Installation: Plan, evaluate, and coordinate the installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements for data and/or voice communication networks.
- Lifecycle & Security: Manage the life cycle and security compliance of network infrastructure.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed network documentation for local area and wireless networks.
- Infrastructure Support: Ability to work on tasks for all local IT infrastructure (network, physical layer, and UPS).
- Strategic Planning: Conduct short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
Required Experience and Technical Qualifications
The candidate must possess significant experience supporting Cisco infrastructure, deep expertise in switching and routing, and a solid understanding of the physical layer.
- Experience (Mandatory):
- 5–7 years of experience in supporting Cisco network infrastructure.
- Proficient in supporting Cisco Switching, Routing, and Wireless environments.
- Must have a solid understanding of Physical Layer infrastructure.
- Tools: Familiar with Cisco Management tools such as PRIME and/or Cisco DNA-Center.
- Clearance/Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship Required.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills (Bonus):
- Certification: Cisco CCNP Certification in switching and/or wireless networks.
- Automation: Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible or programming (e.g., Python).
- Tools Administration: Administration of Cisco tools (Cisco PRIME, DNA-C).
- Ticketing: Good understanding of the ServiceNow Ticketing system.
