An opportunity has come through our network for a Manager, Privacy Operations at RVO Health, the world’s largest and fastest-growing digital health platform. This is a chance to join a dynamic, cutting-edge, and collaborative organization dedicated to building relationships with individuals throughout their health and wellness journeys. RVO Health was founded in 2022 by joining teams from both Red Ventures and UnitedHealth Group’s Optum Health. They are comprised of prominent digital health brands, including Healthline Media, Healthgrades, PlateJoy, and others, all focused on delivering a stronger and healthier world by connecting people with the information and care they need.

This role is for a dedicated and experienced privacy professional to lead our operational privacy initiatives. You will be a key member of a forward-thinking compliance team, instrumental in safeguarding data and promoting privacy compliance across all business lines. This is more than a standard managerial position; it’s a strategic role that requires a blend of technical expertise, legal understanding, and exceptional leadership skills. You will be responsible for creating, enhancing, and managing the processes that ensure the company’s products and services adhere to an ever-evolving landscape of global, federal, and state privacy laws. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the consumer-facing digital health or healthcare technology space, with a strong preference for those also familiar with the ad-tech industry.

A core function of your role will be leveraging powerful privacy technology platforms like OneTrust and Vanta to establish and refine the operational processes that support regulatory compliance and data protection. You will be a vital bridge between the legal, privacy, and technical teams, translating complex regulatory requirements into tangible, executable technical controls and strategies that developers can implement consistently and confidently. This involves collaborating closely with engineering and product teams to design, implement, and monitor technical privacy controls, such as user consent mechanisms, cookie banners, and privacy settings, ensuring all data processing is conducted with the utmost integrity and in full compliance with relevant laws and internal policies.

As the Manager of Privacy Operations, you will play a critical role in enhancing the organization’s overall privacy posture. This includes partnering with legal and privacy teams on crucial compliance initiatives like privacy-by-design and conducting thorough data inventories. Your insights will be essential in developing and implementing mitigation strategies for identified privacy risks, and you will be responsible for creating and enforcing privacy and compliance controls, policies, standards, and guidelines that align seamlessly with regulatory requirements. Your expertise in these areas will directly contribute to RVO Health’s mission of building trust with its users by ensuring their data is handled responsibly and securely.

Beyond the proactive work of policy and system development, you will also be the primary point of contact for managing the incident response process for all privacy and compliance issues. This requires strong coordination with various internal teams to ensure timely investigation and resolution. Furthermore, you will be responsible for effectively reporting on privacy compliance performance, risks, and key performance indicators to critical stakeholders, including executive leadership. Your ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences will be paramount. A key part of your responsibilities will also be to stay continuously updated on emerging global, federal, and state privacy laws and data protection regulations, assessing their potential impact on RVO Health’s products and services and proactively preparing the organization for changes.

To excel in this role, you will need a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience leading projects where you’ve successfully translated privacy requirements into tangible technical controls. Experience in a healthcare organization is a significant plus, while experience in a digital media organization or with ad tech is strongly preferred. Industry-standard certifications such as CCEP, CIPP, or CIPM are required, demonstrating your foundational knowledge and commitment to the field. You must have a strong understanding of relevant data protection laws, including GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA, and a deep familiarity with the regulations specific to health and advertising privacy.

A robust understanding of technical privacy controls and data protection frameworks is essential. This includes familiarity with technical concepts like data anonymization, pseudonymization, HIPAA de-identification methods, encryption, and coding/testing/debugging practices. You will have proven experience with privacy technology, CMPs, and site scanners, and hands-on experience with OneTrust is mandatory. Strong project management and coordination skills are also required, with a proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and manage multiple projects simultaneously, utilizing tools like Asana and/or JIRA. The ideal candidate will also possess an ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with a wide range of individuals, from internal attorneys and cross-functional teams to senior leaders and subject matter experts.

This position offers a competitive starting salary of $104,000 to $130,000, with the final amount based on location, qualifications, and experience. RVO Health provides a comprehensive benefits program for full-time employees, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, and a 401(k) with a match. This is a unique opportunity to join an innovative and rapidly expanding company at the forefront of the digital health revolution, where your expertise will be pivotal in building a robust privacy and compliance program that supports the company’s vision of a healthier world.
