Heatcraft Worldwide Refrigeration, a division of Lennox International, is a global leader in commercial refrigeration. This Lead Field Support Engineer role is a high-level technical leadership position focusing on the most complex, mission-critical refrigeration systems. You will act as the “senior technical voice” in the field, managing escalations, mentoring other engineers, and serving as the primary expert on emerging technologies like CO₂ refrigeration and advanced controls.

  • Location: 100% Remote (US-based)
  • Experience: 8+ years in HVAC/R; Bachelor’s in Engineering preferred.
  • Certifications: EPA Section 608 Universal Certification.
  • Core Tech: CO₂ (Transcritical/Subcritical), Booster/Parallel Compression, A2L/A3 Refrigerants, Rack Systems.

Advanced Refrigeration & CO₂ Expertise

A significant portion of this role is dedicated to CO₂ refrigeration systems. You must demonstrate mastery over transcritical and subcritical operations, gas coolers, and heat reclaim concepts. As the industry shifts toward natural refrigerants, you will lead the start-up, commissioning, and stabilization of these complex booster and parallel compression architectures.

Field Leadership & Escalation Management

As a Lead Engineer, you manage the “high-altitude” challenges. You are the final point of escalation for repeat issues and critical start-ups. Your role is to distinguish between equipment defects and installation errors, coordinating between contractors on-site and internal Engineering or Quality teams to drive a definitive resolution.

Systems Integration & Remote Diagnostics

Beyond physical mechanical work, you will spend significant time reviewing trend logs, controller data, and wiring diagrams. You will diagnose faults in control logic and communication protocols (including basic IP networking). You’ll leverage remote monitoring tools to identify system instability or optimization opportunities for large-scale applications like data centers or industrial cold storage.

Summary: You are the ultimate technical authority for Heatcraft’s field operations. By combining nearly a decade of hands-on HVAC/R experience with specialized knowledge in CO₂ systems and networked controls, you ensure that the most complex refrigeration infrastructures in the world—from supermarkets to pharmaceutical centers—operate with maximum efficiency and reliability.
