IT Director
A leadership opportunity is available for an IT Director at My Amazon Guy, a growing digital marketing agency with over 500 employees and clients. This role is responsible for overseeing the organization’s comprehensive technology strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals, and driving efficiency and growth through innovative solutions.
This is a full-time, permanent remote position. The required work schedule follows EST (Monday-Friday only), with fixed weekends off. Benefits include a competitive salary base, unlimited PTO, and professional development opportunities.
Role Summary and Strategic Leadership Mandate
The IT Director will manage all technology operations, infrastructure, and security, while actively leading and mentoring a sizable team. This is a critical leadership role that balances high-level strategic planning and budgeting with hands-on management and quality assurance for operational execution.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic & Operational Oversight: Oversee all technology operations, policies, and systems to support company strategies, improve efficiency, and drive digital transformation initiatives.
- Team Leadership & Management: Manage up to 8 direct reports (plus their teams). Lead with empathy and accountability, providing training, clear instructions, and consistent project oversight.
- Performance Management: Conduct weekly 1:1s, team huddles, and staffing reviews; set hiring goals and maintain a skills matrix. Ensure effective delegation, accountability, and follow-through on results.
- Project Governance: Maintain organized Asana boards (max 50 active tasks). Review and QA deliverables to ensure accuracy and readiness before implementation.
- Executive Communication: Communicate clearly—delegate down, report up, and keep leadership aligned. Anticipate conflicts, prioritize initiatives, and allocate resources effectively.
- Compliance & Budgeting: Ensure compliance with industry standards and manage budgets and resources effectively.
Required Experience and Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a seasoned IT management professional with a strong technical background, proven leadership experience, and expertise in modern IT governance and cloud technologies.
- Experience: At least 8-10 years of experience in IT management, with a strong background in IT infrastructure, systems, and security.
- Leadership: Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring IT teams (managing managers is a strong plus).
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of IT systems, networks, and enterprise software solutions.
- Core Expertise: Expertise in cloud computing, cybersecurity, data management, and IT governance.
- Strategy & Projects: Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and project management.
- Frameworks: Familiarity with industry-standard frameworks such as ITIL, COBIT, or similar.
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business processes and how technology can enhance organizational performance.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Certifications (Preferred): PMP (Project Management Professional), CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), or other relevant certifications.
