Infrastructure Engineer I – IT Technical Infrastructure
Nebraska Furniture Mart (NFM) is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer I to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of in-house information systems supporting core organizational functions. This role is focused on designing and supporting all networks (voice, data, wireless) and networked software to ensure a positive user experience of in-store technology.
This is a full-time, Virtual (Remote) position, with a pay range of $45,793 – $79,148.00 annually.
Job Duties and Systems Reliability Mandate
As an engineer, I will be responsible for a blend of strategic planning, hands-on development, and proactive support, ensuring systems and networks are optimized and secure, with a strong focus on the Microsoft ecosystem.
- Strategy & Planning: Collaborate with infrastructure staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems that fulfill business objectives.
- Design & Enhancement: Design and deploy enhancements to existing applications, operating systems, and networks; ensure compatibility and interoperability with existing infrastructure.
- Policy & Documentation: Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.
- Security & Auditing: Design and perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
- Optimization: Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and networks, then develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
- Research & Support: Conduct research on network and systems products to remain current with industry trends and provide end-user support for daily operations.
Required Experience and Technical Qualifications
The ideal candidate has a background in systems and network engineering with strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 services and a desire to automate and manage Azure resources.
- Experience (Required):
- 2–4 years’ experience, including systems and network engineering.
- Experience providing end-user support for operating systems, applications, and services (e.g., Microsoft Office, Exchange, Print).
- Understands Service Desk methodologies and ensures support issues are resolved within SLAs.
- Core Technical Knowledge:
- Strong technical knowledge of Client/Server Operating Systems, Cloud/Print Management, Security Applications, and Networking.
- Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft 365 Services and Operations Management suites.
- Microsoft Ecosystem Skills (Hands-on):
- Utilize PowerShell for system administration, automation, and enhancing operational efficiency.
- Manage and administer Azure-based resources, including Azure Virtual Desktop, and handle basic Azure infrastructure tasks.
- Administer and develop solutions in SharePoint.
- Develop and maintain workflows using Power Automate and create custom business solutions using Power Apps.
- Soft Requirements: In-depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and law.
- Work Schedule: Ability to work night, weekend, and/or early morning hours based on business needs.
