Infrastructure Engineer – Azure Focus
This organization is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to serve as the primary support and engineering contact accountable for the customer’s Azure support experience. This pivotal role involves driving the resolution of complex, critical problems, supporting key customer projects on Azure, and acting as the voice of the customer to drive platform and support improvement needs.
This is a full-time, remote position available across numerous U.S. states, including Virginia Beach, VA. The base pay range is $69,867.20 – $116,438.40 annually, with additional compensation available for on-call, overtime, or bonuses.
Core Responsibilities and Azure Mandate
The primary focus is deep technical support and engineering within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, specializing in core infrastructure services and mission-critical applications.
- Azure Support and Resolution: Drive the resolution of complex critical problems and support key customer projects focused on Azure.
- Customer Advocacy: Act as the voice of the customer within Azure to escalate problems and drive the prioritization of platform/support improvement needs.
- Troubleshooting: Provide demonstrated IT experience supporting and troubleshooting enterprise-level, mission-critical applications and resolving complex issues across cross-functional organizations.
Required Experience and Technical Qualifications
The ideal candidate must have significant IT support and server management experience, with a mandatory background in cloud technologies, specifically Azure.
- Experience (Required):
- 4+ years of experience in the software industry.
- 4 years of demonstrated IT experience supporting and troubleshooting enterprise-level, mission-critical applications.
- At least 2 years of cloud experience (Azure focus is key).
- IT Server Management experience.
- Education:
- 3+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, OR 5+ years of relevant experience without a Bachelor’s degree.
- Technical Keywords:
- Azure and broader Cloud technologies.
- Core IaaS: Compute, Storage, Networking, High Availability.
- Logic and Function Applications.
- Monitoring solutions.
- Programming/scripting with PowerShell, Python, C#, or Open Source tools.
