Director, Technology Consulting
A leadership opportunity is available for a Director, Technology Consulting at Public Consulting Group LLC (PCG), a leading firm specializing in public sector solutions. This Director will focus on delivering and developing management consulting services within the California State Government market, concentrating on large-scale software solutions.
This is a full-time, hybrid position with travel/onsite requirements. The candidate must be based in the Southeast region of the US, with a preference for NC or SC (Raleigh, NC, is listed as a location). The reasonable salary range for this role is $135,000 – $165,000.
Role Summary and Public Sector Growth Mandate
The Director will collaborate with senior client executives to implement or advise on large-scale software solutions in State Government environments. This role is highly entrepreneurial, requiring a strong focus on business development and strategic client management, while also providing technical leadership and managing a team of consulting professionals.
Key Competencies and Responsibilities:
- Business Development & Sales: Drive client management and sales acumen to grow existing projects and establish new projects. Build new markets and lead proposal responses for RF(x)’s, focusing on the California State Government market.
- Consulting Delivery: Lead or participate in project delivery activities, including analysis, deliverable creation, and communicating project performance. Advise on large-scale software solutions within Public Sector environments.
- Technical Acumen: Requires a general understanding of technology and should be versed in big data, coding, project management, technical writing, and cloud services.
- Resource Management: Hiring, developing, motivating, and retaining staff to build a sustain a diverse and capable team skillset. Manage a team of resources and ensure they meet financial and organizational targets.
- Risk Management: Own strategic, financial, and operational risk in all aspects of responsibility, integrating quality management and client satisfaction.
- Collaboration: Skilled in building support for opportunities, proposals, and organizational initiatives, playing an active role in growing the Business Unit.
Required Experience and Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a highly experienced technology management consultant with a proven track record of winning public sector contracts, deep familiarity with State Government services, and demonstrated leadership in team and fiscal management.
- Consulting Experience (Required):
- At least 10 years of experience in management consulting, focused on technology.
- 6+ years of experience developing, bidding, and winning public sector management consulting services with progressively increasing leadership responsibility.
- 6+ years of experience providing State Government services such as: planning, procurement, project management, Quality Assurance (QA) or Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V), implementation, or System Integration.
- Financial Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with a minimum Fiscal Year’s book value of $1M-$2M.
- Leadership & Team: Proven ability to hire, develop, and manage a team of people. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Attributes: Must be a self-starter, enthusiastic, and have political savvy to accomplish objectives.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University.
- Location: Must be based in the Southeast region of the US (preference for NC or SC).
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP certification.
