A leadership opportunity is available for a Director of IT at Serve Robotics, a company focused on transforming last-mile delivery with autonomous sidewalk robots. This Director will lead the company’s entire IT strategy and operations, scaling systems to support rapid growth, R&D, and live robot delivery operations.

This is a full-time, remote position in the U.S. and select Canadian provinces (e.g., British Columbia, Quebec, Ontario). The salary range is $210K – $250K, plus equity.


Role Summary and Robotics/Growth Mandate

This role balances high-level strategy with hands-on execution. The Director will own the IT infrastructure, security implementation, and support services across delivery depots, engineering labs, and corporate offices. This is a critical leadership position focused on reliability, compliance, and user experience in a fast-moving, high-growth, tech-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the IT roadmap aligned with Serve’s growth, expansion, and R&D goals. Lead IT planning for new markets, acquisitions, and major company initiatives.
  • Infrastructure & Systems: Oversee enterprise IT infrastructure, networks, and cloud services, focusing on uptime and scalability. Implement collaboration, productivity, and ERP systems. Support IoT and edge-device deployments critical to robotics delivery operations.
  • Security & Compliance: Partner with security leaders to drive identity management, endpoint protection, and incident response. Ensure compliance with ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, CCPA, and related requirements.
  • Team & Operations: Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing IT team. Establish and meet SLAs for IT support across offices, labs, and depots. Manage IT budgets, procurement, and vendor contracts.

Required Experience and Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a seasoned IT operations leader with a track record of scaling infrastructure in high-growth, technology-intensive companies, and deep expertise across networking and security.

  • Experience (Required): 10+ years in IT infrastructure and operations, with 5+ years in leadership.
  • High-Growth Environment: Proven experience managing enterprise IT environments in high-growth, tech-driven companies.
  • Operational Scale: Experience managing live operations across multiple time zones and supporting rapid operational expansion.
  • Technical Depth: Deep expertise in networking, cloud platforms, identity management, and enterprise systems.
  • Leadership Skills: Track record of hiring and scaling IT teams and infrastructure. Excellent communication, leadership, and vendor management skills.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience with IoT deployments (smart devices at the edge) is highly desired.
  • Exposure to robotics, logistics, or other live operations environments.
  • CCNA, CISSP, or equivalent prior networking experience.
  • Background in budget ownership and supporting M&A activities.
