An opportunity has emerged in our network for a DevOps Engineer to join a team based out of Princeton, New Jersey. This is a permanent, remote position focused on implementing and managing infrastructure solutions, ensuring system reliability and scalability. The role is well-suited for a hands-on engineer who thrives in dynamic environments and is comfortable working with evolving requirements.

The posted pay rate for this role is $140,000.00.


Key Responsibilities and Technical Focus

This engineer will be responsible for the full lifecycle of infrastructure and deployment, from design and automation to monitoring and troubleshooting.

  • Container Orchestration: Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes-based container orchestration systems.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Utilize Terraform and Terragrunt to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • CI/CD & Automation: Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins to streamline software delivery. Write and maintain scripts in Python and Bash for system automation and maintenance.
  • Cloud & Configuration Management: Configure and manage cloud infrastructure, particularly on Amazon Web Services (AWS), and implement configuration management using tools such as Ansible.
  • Networking & Reliability: Create and monitor networking solutions to support system connectivity and security. Troubleshoot and resolve system issues to maintain high availability and reliability.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and adapt quickly to changing requirements, independently finding solutions to complex challenges.

Required Experience and Technical Skills

The ideal candidate possesses deep, hands-on experience across the core cloud-native toolset.

  • Container Expertise: Expertise in Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Cloud Platform: Proficiency with cloud platforms, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Automation:
    • Strong experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
    • Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools, including Terraform and Terragrunt.
    • Proficient in scripting languages like Python and Bash for automation.
    • Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible.
  • Networking: Solid understanding of networking concepts and practices.
  • Work Style: Ability to work independently and adapt to ambiguous or rapidly changing environments.
