An opportunity has come through our network for a Developer to join the Conversions team at a prominent provider of healthcare IT solutions. This is a remote, 3-month contract position with a high likelihood of extension, offering a competitive hourly rate of $58 to $61 per hour. As a key member of the Conversions team, you will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient and accurate data conversion for the company’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Practice Management (PM) applications. This role is ideal for a skilled developer with a strong background in data migration and a passion for optimizing complex processes in a healthcare technology environment.
The Role: A Critical Contributor to Data Conversions
As a Developer on the Conversions team, you will play a pivotal role in the seamless transition of client data from legacy systems into a new, modern platform. Your work will directly impact the success of new client implementations, ensuring data integrity and accuracy are maintained throughout the conversion process. This is a position that requires a meticulous and detail-oriented approach, as you will be responsible for handling sensitive and critical healthcare data. The role is deeply technical, focusing on the core processes of extracting, transforming, and loading data, and it demands a developer who is proficient in a variety of scripting and programming languages.
A significant portion of your responsibilities will involve collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of data conversion requirements and specifications. This requires excellent communication skills and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. You will be tasked with optimizing existing SQL scripts to improve processing speed and efficiency, a critical function that will streamline the conversion process for clients. This involves a level of expertise in SQL that goes beyond basic querying, moving into the realm of performance tuning and complex script development.
You will also be responsible for developing custom utilities and tools to address unique data conversion needs that may arise. This requires a creative and solution-oriented mindset, as you will be building bespoke applications to solve specific challenges. A key component of the job is the extraction of client data from diverse third-party applications. This means you must be comfortable working with a variety of data sources and formats, and you must have the skills to pull data from these systems for a seamless import into the company’s own systems. Ultimately, your goal will be to consolidate and simplify complex data extract and deconversion processes, making the entire workflow more efficient and repeatable for future projects.
What We’re Looking For: Skills and Expertise
To be successful in this role, you must bring a solid foundation of technical skills and relevant experience. A strong understanding of the client’s EHR and PM products, including their underlying data tables, is a crucial requirement. This familiarity will allow you to quickly and effectively navigate the data structures and ensure a precise and accurate conversion process.
Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft SQL scripting is a non-negotiable for this position. You will be writing, optimizing, and maintaining complex SQL scripts on a daily basis, and a deep understanding of SQL principles is essential. Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes is also a key requirement. You should be comfortable with the entire ETL lifecycle, from data extraction to transformation and loading, and you should be familiar with the tools and methodologies used to execute these processes.
The role also requires experience with a range of technical formats and programming languages. You should be familiar with XML, JSON, CCDA, and C# programming languages. This diverse skill set will enable you to work with a variety of data formats and build custom tools as needed. While not a strict requirement, familiarity with the Microsoft Azure cloud platform is considered a strong plus, as it indicates a broader understanding of modern cloud-based data solutions.
This position offers a competitive hourly rate and the possibility of overtime, providing a significant earning potential. The remote work opportunity and high likelihood of a contract extension make this a very attractive role for a skilled developer seeking a new challenge. If you are a developer with a passion for data, a knack for problem-solving, and a desire to contribute to the healthcare IT industry, we encourage you to apply.
