An opportunity has emerged in our network for a Cloud Engineer II at Coinstar, focusing on improving and shaping their hybrid, multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) and on-premises systems. This is a full-time, remote position in the United States, although the corporate headquarters is in Bellevue, WA. The role demands technical depth across cloud engineering, database administration, and DevSecOps practices.

The typical starting salary range for this position is between $113,892–$152,330 per year, with total compensation including short-term and long-term bonus incentives.


Key Responsibilities and Hybrid Focus

This engineer plays a crucial role in the DevSecOps framework, blending infrastructure, application architecture support, and specialized database administration.

  • Multi-Cloud & Hybrid Support: Maintain and support Windows and Linux systems across on-premises, AWS, and Azure infrastructures, optimizing resources for high performance and reliability.
  • Database Administration (DBA): Design, implement, and administer SQL databases across on-premises and cloud environments. This includes routine administration, performance tuning, security, high availability, job automation, and migration (on-premises to Azure).
  • Automation & DevSecOps: Build, deploy, and monitor cloud resources using automation tools like Azure DevOps, Terraform, and ARM templates. The role operates within a DevSecOps framework and contributes to evolving CI/CD processes.
  • Azure Specialization: Administer Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments and partner with Software Engineering to design and support application architectures using Azure-native tools (Functions, Logic Apps, Event Hub, Service Bus, API Gateway, Key Vault).
  • Governance & Reliability: Oversee resource utilization, cost monitoring, and enforce security, compliance, and governance standards throughout multi-cloud ecosystems. Participate in a rotating on-call schedule.

Required Experience and Technical Skills

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing complex hybrid environments, IaC, and database systems.

  • Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Hybrid Cloud: 3+ years of hands-on management and optimization of on-premise and cloud resources, with experience administering hybrid and multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
  • DevOps & IaC: 2+ years utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps automation with tools such as Terraform, Azure DevOps, Chef, Puppet, or Ansible.
  • Database Administration: 2+ years of SQL Server database administration, including high availability, performance tuning, and data migration (on-premises to Azure).
  • Scripting & Automation: Demonstrated experience automating processes with PowerShell, Azure CLI, SQL tools, Azure DevOps, ARM templates, or Terraform.
  • Servers: Hands-on experience with deploying and maintaining Windows and Linux servers.

Preferred qualifications include Azure certifications (e.g., Administrator, Solutions Architect, Data Engineer) and familiarity with monitoring platforms (Datadog, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics).
