SAIC is seeking a Cloud Systems Engineer to support the Joint Expeditionary Command and Control (JEXC2) RDT&E program. This role is focused on migrating and maintaining mission-critical systems in the Government Azure cloud (IL2 environment), requiring strong skills in automation and security compliance.
This is a Full-time, 100% Remote position. The target salary range is $40,001 – $80,000.
Core Duties: GovCloud Migration and Automation
The engineer will work within an Agile team, focusing on lifting on-premises systems into a highly secure, regulated Azure environment and automating post-migration management.
- Cloud Migration: Participate in the migration of on-premises systems to the Gov Azure cloud (IL2 environment).
- System Administration: Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux-based systems in Azure.
- Automation: Automate system administration tasks using Ansible and other software.
- Networking & Containers: Implement and maintain secure network configurations. Manage and deploy containerized applications.
- Security & Compliance: Contribute to the overall security posture and adhere to security policies, maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.
- Agile & Documentation: Collaborate with team members in an Agile development environment and create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
Required Experience and Clearance
This position has strict requirements regarding U.S. citizenship, clearance level, and foundational certifications in cloud and security.
- Clearance (Mandatory): Must currently hold a Secret clearance with the ability to acquire and maintain an Active Top Secret clearance.
- Citizenship: Candidate must be a US Citizen.
- Certifications & Education:
- Security+ certification required prior to the first day.
- Demonstrated completion of AZ-104 learning modules or course materials (proof required).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and two (2) years of related experience, or additional experience in lieu of a degree.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Proven experience with Azure and cloud systems.
- Strong proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Demonstrable experience with Ansible automation.
- Solid understanding of networking principles and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Desired Experience:
- Experience with container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
- Familiarity with cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks.
