Cloud DevSecOps Engineer
An opportunity has emerged in our network for a Cloud DevSecOps Engineer at Regions, a financial institution focused on integrity and quality. The primary focus of this full-time role is to contribute to the advancement of the cloud strategy by developing, communicating, and implementing robust and secure CI/CD pipelines. This role is currently offsite within Regions’ 15-state footprint, preferably close to a Regions office, with associates working from home primarily.
The salary range for this position is competitive, with a Job Range Target Minimum of $143,999.35 USD and a Median of $179,910.00 USD, plus the opportunity to participate in the Long Term Incentive Plan.
Key Responsibilities and DevSecOps Focus
This role requires a deep focus on automation, security integration, and ensuring cloud deployments are fully autonomous, repeatable, and follow best practices.
- Autonomous CI/CD Design: Design and develop fully autonomous CI/CD pipelines that facilitate cloud deployments, including the automation of all infrastructure, services, and application build and deployment.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Immutability: Develop and test Ansible Playbooks, Terraform Scripts, and Packer Scripts to establish immutable infrastructure, eliminating traditional patching.
- Security Integration: Model release candidate pipelines as a mechanism for security and quality determination. Work with InfoSec to enable the organization to move to the cloud using complete automation and adhering to Shift Left principles.
- Tooling & Platform Scalability: Implement highly scalable CI/CD platforms to support high change volumes and fast feedback. Research new technologies and build tools that reduce errors and improve customer experiences.
- Operations & Mentorship: Automate operational activities, respond to performance alerts, and ensure pipelines produce clear documentation and metrics for Root Cause Analysis. Act as a resource for colleagues, mentoring them in the art of DevSecOps.
Required Experience and Technical Skills
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience across cloud platforms, DevSecOps methodologies, and core automation tools.
- Education/Experience: High School Diploma/GED and ten (10) years of related post-secondary education and/or experience in Information Security or Information Technology.
- DevSecOps Experience (Preferred): Six (6) years of relevant DevSecOps experience.
- Cloud & Containers (Preferred):
- Experience in building/deploying cloud native applications (OpenShift, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)).
- Experience with either AWS or Azure cloud technologies.
- Experience in observing real-time metrics and deployment strategies (Blue/Green, Canary Deployment).
- Tooling Expertise:
- Must be comfortable developing pipelines as code using YAML specs and Ansible playbooks.
- Working Knowledge of Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Ansible, Terraform, Packer, Git, and ServiceNow is a big plus.
- Experience with interfacing with secrets management solutions like Hashicorp Vault.
- Programming & Principles: Proficient in Python programming language. Excellent knowledge of Cloud infrastructure, networking, services, and cloud architectural patterns. Strong understanding of Shift Left principles.
Additional Preferences include experience with Chaos engineering principles and experience developing Generative AI use cases and capabilities.
