The Craneware Group (Sentry Data Systems) is seeking an Applications Support Engineer to join their Technology specialty team. This role is focused on transforming the business of healthcare by supporting the expansion of their SaaS platform and developing cutting-edge applications.

This is a Full-time, Permanent, Home-based (US) position.


Role Summary and Technical Support Mandate

The Applications Support Engineer will primarily be responsible for investigating the sources and root causes of internal and external customer concerns, utilizing strong data analysis and technical problem-solving skills. The core mandate involves leveraging expert SQL scripting to propose and implement solutions, drive process improvements, and manage product issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Resolution: Handle and resolve customer issues with internal and external partners within defined response times.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Investigate and resolve data errors, often by helping customers change processes or by writing and executing SQL queries.
  • Stakeholder Management: Set up and lead calls to communicate case status and project updates with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Product Improvement: Identify product issues and collaborate directly with product and development teams on solutions and code defects.
  • Project Leadership: Lead projects and interface with teams on code defects or product enhancements.
  • Process Optimization: Find and implement new process improvement opportunities to enhance operational efficiency.

Required Experience and Technical Qualifications

The ideal candidate brings mandatory expertise in SQL and relational databases, paired with strong business analysis and communication skills, necessary for managing complex data issues within a healthcare technology context.

  • Experience (Mandatory):
    • At least 3 years of experience in a relevant technical role.
    • Expert use of SQL for investigation, validation, and solution implementation.
    • In-depth knowledge and experience with relational databases, including structure and querying.
  • Skills:
    • Strong business and data analysis capabilities.
    • Proven technical problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management abilities.
    • Proficiency in using spreadsheets to create a shared understanding of data issues.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience.
