This role is focused on providing high-level technical support for the Oracle Database ecosystem, specifically targeting core engine functionalities. You will be responsible for diagnosing complex system-level behaviors, ranging from transaction management and storage to advanced high-availability configurations in both on-premises and Oracle Cloud (OCI) environments.

​Database Internals & Process Management

​You must possess a deep understanding of Database User Processes and the mechanics of database startup and shutdown sequences. Your expertise will be called upon to troubleshoot Transaction Management (concurrency, locking, and undo) and Storage allocation. You will also manage the Oracle Scheduler and ensure database compliance with Globalization (NLS) concepts for international environments.

​High Availability & Standby Environments

​A preferred skill set for this role involves Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Data Guard. You will support customers running mission-critical, “always-on” environments, troubleshooting issues within standby databases and ensuring data synchronization across distributed nodes. This includes managing complex networking configurations that bridge physical hardware and cloud instances.

​Modern Data & Cloud Technologies

​Beyond traditional relational data, you will handle modern data formats including XML and JSON. You will provide technical guidance on Text-Based Searching and Spatial Concepts (geographic data). As customers migrate to the cloud, you will troubleshoot issues specific to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), helping them navigate the transition from legacy setups to cloud-native database services.
