​ScienceLogic is a leader in Autonomic IT, providing a platform that uses AI and automation to manage hybrid cloud monitoring. This Technical Support Engineer (TSE) role is a high-level Tier 2 escalation position. You will support the SL1 platform, a complex Linux-based solution that integrates heavily with modern containerization, networking protocols, and distributed streaming data.

  • Location: Reston, VA or Remote (US)
  • Experience: 2+ years in Linux-based enterprise software support.
  • Core Tech: Linux Admin, SQL (MariaDB/MySQL), Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, SNMP.
  • Focus: Advanced troubleshooting of hybrid cloud monitoring and high-availability systems.

​Containerization & Distributed Messaging

​You will support the modern architecture of the ScienceLogic platform, which relies on Kubernetes and Docker for orchestration and Kafka for real-time data streaming. You must be able to troubleshoot these components both on-premises and within AWS environments to ensure the “always-on” nature of enterprise IT operations.

​Network Monitoring & SNMP Protocols

​Because ScienceLogic is a monitoring platform, a deep understanding of SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) is non-negotiable. You will use tools like snmpwalk and work with MIBs and OIDs to diagnose why the platform may not be communicating correctly with a customer’s firewalls, routers, or switches.

​Linux Systems & High Availability

​The role requires advanced Linux administration and the ability to script in major shells (Bash/Python/PHP) to automate fixes. You will also deal with complex high-availability (HA) configurations involving DRBD, Corosync, and Pacemaker, ensuring that the monitoring system itself remains self-healing and resilient.

​Database & SQL Proficiency

​You are expected to perform deep-level data investigations. This involves constructing complex SQL statements to query and occasionally update information within MariaDB or MySQL databases to resolve configuration issues or data inconsistencies that block customer success.

Summary: You are the Tier 2 expert for ScienceLogic’s most complex technical challenges. By combining deep Linux systems knowledge with a mastery of containerization and network protocols, you enable organizations to transition from reactive monitoring to fully autonomous, self-healing IT environments.
