This is a contract position with a competitive pay rate, located onsite in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. As a Systems Architect, you will be an integral part of the IT department, providing support for a variety of operational technology initiatives. The Role: A Foundational Step in IT Architecture
As a Systems Architect Entry Level, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks that are foundational to the operational technology of the organization. Your primary responsibilities will include managing and overseeing backups using industry-standard software platforms like Veeam and/or Acronis. You will also be responsible for handling Network Attached Storage (NAS) hardware devices, ensuring their optimal performance and reliability. A key part of your work will involve networking fundamentals, where you will engage in IP addressing and subnetting, as well as managing DNS and DHCP functions. This requires a solid understanding of network protocols and a keen eye for detail. You will also be tasked with building and configuring servers, and your skills will be tested as you troubleshoot configurations beyond the basic settings.
A unique aspect of this role is the support of industrial operational technology (OT) computer systems. This requires a different skill set than traditional IT, as you will be working with systems that are often connected to physical processes. You will also be responsible for managing hardware spare parts, ensuring that the necessary components are available to minimize downtime. Essential Skills and Qualifications
To be successful as an Entry-Level Systems Architect, you must bring a foundational set of skills and a strong willingness to learn.
