The Role: Expert-Level Support for Microsoft Customers
As a Support Engineer 2, your primary responsibility will be to serve as a high-level technical resource for Microsoft customers, tackling a wide range of issues and ensuring their systems operate smoothly. This role is not just about resolving tickets; it’s about applying your deep knowledge to perform root cause analysis, identify solutions, and provide clear, actionable guidance. You will be at the front line of customer service, using your technical expertise to build trust and deliver a superior support experience. The technical scope of this role is extensive and requires a high level of proficiency in several key areas. A minimum of three years of experience with databases, including MongoDB, MS SQL, and NoSQL, is essential. You must have a deep knowledge of these database systems, including their architecture, performance tuning, and troubleshooting techniques. An expert-level understanding of the Azure cloud platform is also a non-negotiable requirement. Specifically, you must have a minimum of three years of experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and Azure SQL Services. This includes a thorough understanding of their functionalities and how they are used to build and manage data solutions.
A core component of this role involves the design and building of data pipelines using various ingestion and streaming methods, and providing support for them. This requires a strong understanding of how data flows between different systems and the ability to troubleshoot any issues that arise in these pipelines. Experience with Azure SQL Managed Instance is also necessary. You will be responsible for providing production support for big data systems, both on-premise and in the cloud, which means you must be comfortable working in a high-stakes environment where system uptime is critical. All of these technical skills must be complemented by excellent communication skills, as you will be interacting directly with customers to understand their issues and guide them toward a resolution.
