TekSynap is seeking a highly qualified Systems Administrator to join their team in Columbus, Ohio. This role is crucial for ensuring the stable operation, maintenance, and repair of the DLA Integrated Electronic Security Systems (IESS) and Electronic Key Control (EKC) infrastructure, which supports vital Federal Government functions.
- Location: Columbus, OH
- Clearance: Must possess a Secret security clearance.
- Experience: 7 years overall systems administration; 5 years with Microsoft Windows client/server OS; 5 years hands-on experience with DLA ESS or EKC systems.
- Focus: Managing Windows servers and a wide array of electronic security and key control software/hardware (e.g., Lenel, AMAG, Honeywell, Bosch, Pelco, KeyTrak, etc.).
Required Qualifications and Certifications
This position has strict, non-negotiable requirements related to experience, certification, and clearance:
- Experience: Seven years of overall professional experience in the systems administration field, including five years specifically in Microsoft Windows client and server operating systems.
- Electronic Security Experience: Five years of hands-on experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and resolving issues with the DLA ESS or EKC system.
- Clearance: Must possess a Secret security clearance.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (engineering and/or systems development).
- Mandatory Certifications:
- DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: IAT Level II.
- Milestone Certified Design Engineer (MCDE).
- Milestone Certified Integration Engineer (MCIE).
- Lenel Certified Professional (LCP).
Key Responsibilities: Maintenance, Troubleshooting, and Training
The Systems Administrator performs all core IT administration duties while managing specialized security software and training personnel on its use.
- System Operations: Manage day-to-day operations by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair of network software and hardware.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and recommend fixes to problems or potential problems with the network, hardware, software, and systems. Analyze and resolve software program and connectivity issues.
- Access and Deployment: Establish, maintain, and manage user accounts. Install, modify, and maintain systems and utility software.
- Training: Train staff on how to use a long list of specific security software and hardware systems, including Lenel, AMAG, Honeywell, Pelco, KeyTrak Guardian, and Matrix Key Control systems.
