Paylocity, an award-winning provider of cloud-based HR and payroll software solutions, is seeking a Systems Administrator to support its internal server environment. This role is crucial for executing regular upgrades, maintenance, and monitoring system performance to ensure reliable operation and high availability of business-critical systems.

Primary Responsibilities: Operations, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting

This position involves a blend of routine operational work, minor engineering tasks, and acting as a technical resource for the entire organization.

• System Maintenance: Perform routine engineering and operational work, including installing, configuring, and executing regular upgrades and maintenance on software applications.
• High Availability: Monitor system health and performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to enhance system efficiencies and ensure reliable operation.
• Escalation Support: Act as an escalation point for the End User Computing team and assist in resolving daily incidents and completing tech-related projects.
• Automation & Documentation: Proficiently use PowerShell and other Configuration Management tools (SCCM, Ansible, Chef, etc.). Create and maintain the knowledge base with any changes/updates.
• On-Call: Participate in On-Call rotation for system downtime or failure/Active Red-Alerts.

Required Education and Experience:

The ideal candidate has solid foundational experience in Microsoft enterprise environments, virtualization, and basic networking.

• Experience: 2-4 years’ experience in System Administration.
• Core Microsoft Expertise: Advanced technical knowledge of:
  • Windows operating systems (Windows 10, Server 2016, and Server 2019).
  • Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft 365 services.
  • Active Directory (permissions, Group Policy, etc.).
• Virtualization & Networking: Intermediate knowledge of VMware (vSphere, ESX, etc.) and knowledge of layer-2 and layer-3 networking protocols.
• Automation: Proficient in PowerShell and experienced with Configuration Management tools.
• Education: BS degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
