The State of Ohio (OhioMHAS) is seeking an experienced, certified Epic HIM Analyst to support the Health Information Management (HIM) module. This role is crucial for implementing, supporting, and optimizing HIM workflows within the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

This is a Full-time, Fully Remote position, with interviews conducted via Microsoft Teams. The location is posted for Columbus, Ohio.

Role Overview and Key Responsibilities

This analyst acts as the functional and technical expert for the Epic HIM suite, ensuring regulatory compliance and efficient information management processes across the organization.

• Epic Module Administration: Configure, build, test, and maintain Epic HIM modules, including:
  • Release of Information (ROI)
  • Deficiency Tracking
  • Identity
  • Coding
  • Document Management
• Workflow Optimization: Collaborate with HIM leadership and operational users to assess current workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and translate business requirements into Epic functionality.
• Compliance & Security: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, CMS, Joint Commission) in all HIM related Epic configurations.
• Support & Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot system issues, provide prompt support to HIM users, and support chart corrections using Epic tools.
• Testing & Upgrades: Coordinate and execute testing plans for system upgrades and patches.
• Reporting: Develop reports and dashboards related to HIM metrics.
• Identity Management: Work with Identity Management to resolve patient identity issues and maintain record accuracy.

Required Expertise and Qualifications

The position requires specific Epic certification and a strong functional understanding of Health Information Management operations.

• Certification: Epic HIM certification is required.
• Knowledge: Strong knowledge of HIM operations, workflows, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA).
• Experience: The position is for an experienced Epic-certified Analyst to support the module.
