Systems Administrator II – Managed IT (Onsite Banking Client)
FIS (Fidelity National Information Services), a leader in fintech, is seeking a Systems Administrator II to join its Managed IT group. This role is dedicated to providing comprehensive IT support and administration to a specific banking client in the Troy, Alabama region.
This is a Full-time, Experienced position that is 5 days onsite at the banking client’s office location in Troy, AL. Candidates must have a valid Driver’s License and their own transportation.
Core Responsibilities and Client Support Mandate
This Administrator will be responsible for a wide range of desktop, system, and network administration tasks, acting as the primary IT resource for the client, managing both day-to-day support and project implementation.
- Desktop & Network Support: Provide remote and on-site desktop and network support to Managed Services clients.
- Administration & Monitoring: Perform on-site moves, adds, changes, and desktop and network administration. Conduct proactive monitoring of the network and systems.
- System Maintenance: Install, maintain, and upgrade internal computer hardware and software systems. Install, configure, and upgrade network operating systems and applications.
- Performance & Security: Propose and implement system enhancements to improve reliability and performance. Monitor usage and performance. Maintain a secure systems environment, including controlling user access and passwords.
- Hardware Handling: Ability to lift and move around hardware and equipment (servers, printers, fax machines, copiers, etc.).
- Project Implementation: Assist in on-site project implementation and evaluate/recommend software and hardware products.
Required and Preferred Technical Knowledge
The role requires a strong generalist with hands-on experience in the Windows and network ecosystem, and the ability to travel and maintain a flexible schedule.
- Networking & Tools: Strong knowledge of implementing and utilizing remote network management and monitoring tools. Experience with storage management, TCP/IP, network monitoring, and tools.
- Operating Systems & Apps: Experience configuring, implementing, and supporting:
- Active Directory
- M365
- Windows Server OS and Windows desktop operating systems
- Outlook/Exchange
- Anti-virus, back-ups, and other desktop applications.
- Hardware/Software: Experience supporting both hardware and software applications in Windows.
- Travel/Logistics: Ability to travel and maintain a flexible work schedule. Must have their own transportation.

- Server administration skills.
- Experience supporting Virtual Desktop Environment (VDI).
- Experience with VMWare.
- Basic knowledge of supporting the Azure environment.
- Support experience with FIS banking applications.
