Core Responsibilities: Threat Monitoring and Incident Response

This analyst will be on the front lines of global security, managing and operating enterprise security platforms, and providing clear communication on threat remediation.

  • Monitoring & Investigation:
    • Monitor and respond to global security events using state-of-the-art security tools and managed services.
    • Operate enterprise-wide security platforms and investigate events using an enterprise Security Information and Event Manager (SIEM) and various network forensic tools.
  • Log Management: Add/Remove log sources, troubleshoot log source issues with vendors, and report system defects as needed. Initiate automation to effectively manage system logs and security alarm reporting.
  • Incident Analysis: Analyze security logs and investigate network and server security violations and intrusions. Work with appropriate business units to remediate findings.
  • Communication & Policy:
    • Provide written summaries of security event indicators, recommend remediation activities, and prepare custom reports for a mixed technical and non-technical audience.
    • Apply broad security industry knowledge to contribute to policy-making and process design.

Required and Preferred Skills

The ideal candidate has a foundational technical understanding of networking and operating systems, coupled with a strong interest in computer security and forensics.

  • Technical Foundations (Required):
    • Technical knowledge and experience in operating system security and security best practices.
    • Demonstrated understanding of TCP/IP, common networking ports and protocols, traffic flow, system administration, and defense-in-depth concepts.
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills related to networking, operating systems, and malware analysis.
  • Security Focus: Demonstrated interest in computer security, incident response, or computer forensics.
  • Tools Experience (Preferred): Experience with network monitoring tools to monitor attacks/threats.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, and documentation ability.
  • Preferred Experience: Technology security experience and a data analyst skillset.
