Computer Associates’ Top Secret Security Product Systems Administrator
GDIT (General Dynamics Information Technology) is seeking a Computer Associates’ Top Secret Security product Systems Administrator to support complex government, defense, and intelligence projects. This role focuses on maintaining, monitoring, and enforcing security standards within a mainframe environment using CA Top Secret for z/OS.
This is a Full-time, Fully Remote (Any Location) position. The likely salary range is $114,750 – $155,250. U.S. Citizenship is required.
Role Summary and Mainframe Security Mandate
The Systems Administrator provides mentor-level support, focusing on the security, administration, and monitoring of the mainframe environment. Key responsibilities revolve around the operation and maintenance of CA Top Secret for z/OS and adherence to strict security standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- CA Top Secret Administration:
- Provide in-depth knowledge of CA Top Secret for z/OS and the ability to externalize security.
- Hands-on administration of z/OS, CICS, and Top Secret login IDs, datasets, and resource rules.
- Find and remove obsolete, unused, redundant, and excessive access rights in CA Top Secret.
- Understand group structures and UID string setup for mainframe resource access.
- Security Monitoring & Compliance:
- Monitor the environment for adherence to security standards.
- Review and monitor mainframe security reports for possible policy violations.
- Execute mainframe vulnerability scans utilizing zSecure and other security tools.
- Review and report on access violation reports (Universal Access, revoked users, Super UNIX User, CICS/IMS/DB2 Access).
- Support & Liaison:
- Provide mentor-level support experience and act as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the customer.
- Provide off-hour on-call support for security related incidents.
- Liaison with business areas and other technical support teams.
Required Experience and Technical Expertise
The candidate must have substantial, dedicated experience with the CA Top Secret product suite within an IBM z/OS mainframe environment.
- Experience (Mandatory):
- 7+ years of related experience.
- In-depth knowledge of CA Top Secret for z/OS (Computer Associates’ mainframe security product).
- Hands-on experience and knowledge of CA Top Secret and z/OS.
- Core Skills:
- Hands-on administration of z/OS, CICS, and Top Secret security objects (IDs, dataset/resource rules).
- Familiarity with executing security tools like zSecure.
- Deep understanding of access review and cleanup best practices (removing obsolete/excessive access).
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship Required.
