Voltera, a company developing, owning, and operating infrastructure for zero-emission vehicles, is seeking an IT Architect & System Administrator. This is a highly strategic, hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing the entire technology strategy, corporate and field IT operations, security, and data flow across a rapidly growing, infrastructure-heavy environment.

This position is based in Los Angeles, CA, or Denver, CO (Remote considered, but LA/Denver strongly preferred).


Role Summary and Strategic Leadership Mandate

This IT leader will be responsible for building a secure, scalable IT foundation that supports Voltera’s growth in development, construction, and operations. You will function as both a strategic architect and a hands-on administrator, ensuring system efficiency, cohesion, and compliance.

What You’ll Do:

  • Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute an IT roadmap aligned with company goals. Manage IT budgeting, vendor selection, and contracts to ensure operational and fiscal excellence.
  • Infrastructure Design: Design, implement, and maintain secure IT infrastructure across offices, job sites, and remote environments.
  • Enterprise System Ownership: Lead administration and optimization of critical enterprise systems, including CRM (Salesforce), ERP (NetSuite), and collaboration tools.
  • Security & Compliance: Oversee the cybersecurity framework, policies, and compliance with standards like ISO, NIST, SOC2, and privacy regulations. Conduct regular system audits, vulnerability scans, and risk assessments.
  • Operational Excellence: Lead incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning. Manage device lifecycle and asset management programs.
  • Data Integration: Support the integration of field and operational data into enterprise systems for visibility and reporting. Collaborate to streamline data flows between field systems, analytics platforms, and enterprise tools (requiring occasional hands-on integration development).
  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing, service-oriented IT team focused on reliability and improvement.

Must-Have Experience and Technical Expertise

The ideal candidate must be a proven strategic leader with significant experience scaling IT systems in multi-site environments, combined with direct, hands-on expertise in key enterprise platforms and security controls.

  • Experience & Leadership (Mandatory):
    • 8+ years of progressive IT experience, including at least 3–5 years in a leadership role managing corporate and distributed infrastructure.
    • Proven success scaling IT systems and processes in a growth-stage or multi-site environment.
  • Core Technical Expertise:
    • Strong understanding of cloud architecture (AWS), MS 365 access controls, and cybersecurity best practices.
    • Proven hands-on expertise with Salesforce (admin and development), NetSuite, and Power BI.
    • Demonstrated success in implementing and integrating SaaS and cloud-based platforms across departments.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Nice-to-Have (Preferred):

  • Industry Experience: Experience in the energy, construction, utilities, or EV infrastructure industries.
  • Certifications: PMP, ITIL, CISSP, CISM, AWS, Salesforce Administrator and/or Developer.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with SOC2 Type-2, ISO 27001, and NIST 2.0 environments.
