Synapse Health, a company using technology to transform the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) industry ecosystem, is seeking a Senior System Administrator. This senior individual contributor role is critical for strengthening, securing, and scaling the company’s technology foundation, with a heavy focus on the Microsoft Azure/Entra ID stack and driving automation.

This is a Full-time, Fully Remote position.


Role Summary and Infrastructure Ownership

The Senior System Administrator will own complex, multi-month IT projects from planning through execution, and will be responsible for the reliability, security, and scalability of the entire technology environment. This is a hands-on role that requires deep technical expertise combined with cross-functional influence, partnering closely with the VP of IT.

What You Will Do:

  • Cloud & Identity Management: Configure, administer, and optimize Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), Intune, and the broader Azure environment to support a secure, scalable workforce.
  • Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts (primarily PowerShell) to streamline system administration, provisioning, and policy enforcement.
  • Project Leadership: Lead multi-month IT initiatives from project planning and stakeholder communication through execution and delivery.
  • Endpoint Management: Support endpoint and device lifecycle management, including configuration, deployment, and security policies for a distributed workforce.
  • Policy & Compliance: Drive the development and implementation of enterprise-wide IT policies and standards to enhance reliability, security, and compliance.
  • Vendor Management: Manage and optimize relationships with third-party vendors (e.g., Atlassian, Paylocity, Greenhouse) and assist with procurement, contracts, and tool selection.
  • Tier 3 Support: Provide Tier 3 escalation support and conduct root-cause analysis for complex technical issues.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior IT staff, fostering growth and ensuring alignment with best practices.
  • Collaboration: Partner with internal teams on system integrations, application deployments, and infrastructure improvements.

Key Technology Focus

The role requires deep hands-on expertise with the following:

  • Microsoft Cloud: Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), Intune, broader Azure infrastructure.
