Bentley Systems, a world-leading software company providing solutions for architecture, engineering, and construction, is seeking a talented Technical Support Engineer to join its Global Technical Support team. This role is highly interactive, focused on providing expert technical application support, training, and consulting for civil engineering design software.

This is a Full-time, Hybrid, or Remote position. Candidates must be based on the West Coast or the Central U.S.


Role Summary and Civil Design Mandate

You will serve as the primary support liaison between Bentley and its users, engaging with various civil engineering professionals and government organizations. Your work will involve resolving complex application questions, teaching best practices for design software, and influencing future product development.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Expert Technical Support: Provide technical application support to users, answering complex questions on software use for various civil engineering projects, including roadway design, site design, storm/sanitary sewer design, and rail design.
  • Training & Consulting: Teach engineers and designers how to best use civil engineering and survey software tools, and act as a consultant to organizations implementing Bentley’s design software.
  • Content Creation: Produce ** training materials and multimedia materials** used to train users.
  • Issue Resolution: Resolve clients’ application questions over the telephone in areas of system configurations/setup, product functionality, and bugs/enhancements.
  • Product Feedback: Convey user feedback to product development staff, presenting user requirements as specifications for program command and workflow enhancements.
  • Collaboration: Interact with the Development group, Professional Services, Quality Assurance, Marketing, and Sales teams.

Required Experience and Technical Qualifications

The ideal candidate possesses a Civil Engineering background, practical experience in key civil design areas, and prior familiarity with industry-standard design software.

  • Education (Mandatory): Civil Engineering degree or equivalent training and experience.
  • Experience (Preferred):
    • 1–5 years of experience in road, rail, and site design is preferred.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license is a bonus.
  • Software Experience (Strongly Preferred): Prior experience with OpenRoads Designer, InRoads, GEOPAK, MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Civil3D.
  • Core Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English language proficiency), strong critical thinking skills, and a desire to solve problems.
