An opportunity has come through our network for a Microsoft .NET and SharePoint Developer to join a leading client’s team. This is a 12-month contract position with a hybrid work model, based in New York, NY. This role is not just about development; it’s about leadership. As an Application Lead, you will be the primary point of contact for a range of projects, responsible for leading the effort to design, build, and configure applications that are crucial to the client’s operations.

This position is for a subject matter expert who can not only perform technical work but also manage a team and contribute to key strategic decisions. You will be responsible for providing solutions to complex problems, both for your immediate team and across multiple teams. A critical part of your role will be fostering a collaborative environment, encouraging open communication and knowledge sharing, and mentoring junior team members to help them grow their skills and contribute effectively.


Core Responsibilities and Technical Expertise

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Application Development and Maintenance: You will develop and maintain applications using Microsoft .NET, Core/API, and SharePoint (both On-Premise 2016 and SharePoint Online).
  • SharePoint Specialization: You will customize SharePoint using a wide range of tools and frameworks, including SharePoint Designer, scripts, SPFX framework, extensions, and build tools. You will also use the PnP Framework, PowerShell, and JSOM for development.
  • Modern Web Development: You will develop front-end applications using Angular and React, and work with SQL databases, TypeScript, CSS, and HTML for web development.
  • Microsoft Ecosystem: You will leverage various Microsoft technologies for application development, including Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft GraphAPI, and Copilot.
  • Power Platform and Automation: A significant part of your role will involve creating and managing Power Platform Apps, including Canvas, Model-Driven, and xrmtoolbox. You will also automate workflows using Power Automate/Flow and connectors, as well as Logic Apps.
  • Integration and Migration: You will be responsible for integrating applications with other enterprise systems like Workday, SNOW, SAP, and Archer. You will also perform SharePoint content migration using the Sharegate Migration Tool.
  • Azure and UI/UX: You will utilize Azure services, including App Services, API, functions, and webjobs, and develop modern UI/UX themes.
  • Deployment and Support: You will design and manage all deployments and provide essential application support and maintenance, including change management and release management.

Essential Qualifications and Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have advanced proficiency in SharePoint Framework (SPFx), which is a required skill for this role. Advanced proficiency in .NET Full Stack Development is highly recommended, while advanced proficiency in Angular, React.js, and Microsoft SQL Server is also suggested.
