As a key member of the Technology Business Management department, you will play a critical role in supporting various teams and driving organizational efficiency through enhanced cost transparency and IT planning. This position is ideal for someone who can seamlessly bridge the gap between financial management and information technology. The core of this role is to manage and improve IT cost transparency and planning for the organization. You will be responsible for delivering timely and accurate management, analysis, and reporting of Information Technology business results. Your expertise will be crucial in linking IT and financial data, a key task that involves gathering the necessary IT operations data to effectively allocate infrastructure costs to specific products and services. You will also facilitate important discussions with financial management, IT operations, and business unit leadership, ensuring effective collaboration and strategic alignment across the organization.
A major technical focus of this role is the Apptio application. The successful candidate must be an Apptio Administrator and an expert in using the platform. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of Apptio, including creating dashboards, managing the application, and understanding complex concepts like allocations and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) modeling. Your proficiency in these areas is non-negotiable and essential for a successful transition into this role.
Core Responsibilities and Technical Expertise
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Technical Guidance and Improvement: You will provide expert technical guidance to manage and improve the organization’s cost transparency and IT planning.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: You will deliver timely and accurate management, analysis, and reporting of IT business results to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Linking IT and Financial Data: You will apply your knowledge of Financial Management, IT Service Management, and TBM principles to link IT and finance data elements and allocate infrastructure costs to business services.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: You will facilitate discussions and foster collaboration among financial management, IT operations, and business unit leaders to ensure effective alignment.
Candidate Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Financial Management, IT Service Management, or Technology Business Management principles. This is a role for a seasoned professional with 7-10 years of combined experience in financial management and information technology.
Essential Qualifications and Skills include:
- Apptio Expertise: You must be an expert and certified Administrator of the Apptio application. This includes hands-on experience in creating dashboards, managing daily operations, and understanding allocations and TCO modeling.
- TBM Knowledge: An in-depth understanding of IT service management, IT operations, and IT financial management concepts.
- Reporting and Visualization: Proficiency in developing reports and visualizations for both IT and business unit stakeholders.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven collaborative mindset.
