Terms of Use

Last updated: August 26, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of skillbasedmatching.com (the "Site") and the career representation, resume writing, and related services offered by CareerRep ("we," "us," or "our") (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Site or purchasing the Services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of Services

CareerRep provides resume writing, LinkedIn optimization, managed job application execution, and related career support services, as described on the Site. Specific deliverables and program details are outlined in the plan or package you purchase.

2. No Guarantee of Employment

CareerRep guarantees the execution of the Services described in your chosen plan (e.g., resume delivery, applications submitted, outreach performed). We do not guarantee interviews, job offers, or employment outcomes. Results vary based on factors outside our control, including your qualifications, target industry, geographic market, and current hiring conditions.

3. Client Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information about your work history, qualifications, and career goals
  • Personally review and submit any job application, attestation, or certification statement submitted under your name and account; CareerRep prepares and queues materials, but does not complete attestations or voluntary self-identification sections on your behalf
  • Comply with the terms of service of any third-party platform (e.g., job boards, LinkedIn, ATS systems) used during the engagement
  • Make payments according to the agreed schedule

4. Payment and Refunds

Fees for the Services are due as described at checkout or in your service agreement. Any refund or guarantee terms specific to your plan will be described separately in your purchase confirmation and are subject to the conditions stated there (such as a minimum number of applications submitted within a defined window).

5. Right to Represent / Managed Outreach

Where the Services include outreach to hiring decision-makers on your behalf ("Managed Proxy Networking"), you authorize CareerRep to act with your permission for this limited purpose. You remain responsible for the accuracy of any information communicated on your behalf, which is based on materials and information you provide.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site, including text, graphics, and design, is owned by CareerRep or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Resumes, cover letters, and other materials created for you as part of the Services are yours to use for your personal job search.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CareerRep is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services, including lost income or missed employment opportunities. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the Services giving rise to the claim.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services and the Site are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

9. Termination

Either party may terminate the engagement in accordance with the cancellation terms described in your specific service agreement or plan.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which CareerRep is registered to do business, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site or Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
