The core mission of this role is to lead the collection, analysis, and visualization of environmental performance data, with a primary focus on <strong>Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions (Scopes 1, 2, and 3)<\/strong>, water, and waste. The analyst ensures a transparent, data-driven sustainability reporting process that supports <strong>science-based targets<\/strong> and voluntary environmental reporting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u200b<strong>Location:<\/strong> Remote (Dearborn, MI is the department base).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Experience Required:<\/strong> <strong>3+ years of experience<\/strong> in data analysis or sustainability reporting, particularly with a global leading manufacturer (apparel or CPG preferred).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Education:<\/strong> Bachelor\u2019s degree in Environmental Science, Data Analytics, Sustainability, or a related field (Advanced degree preferred).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Travel:<\/strong> Limited travel (10%).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Focus:<\/strong> GHG inventory\/accounting, data visualization (Power BI), ESG standards (CSRD, SEC), and cross-functional data-collection framework design.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u200bAssociate Responsibilities: Data Frameworks and Reporting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u200bThe analyst drives the technical and strategic effort to quantify and analyze the company&#8217;s environmental footprint across the value chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u200b<strong>GHG Inventory Leadership:<\/strong> Lead the annual <strong>greenhouse gas emissions inventory\/accounting process<\/strong> for <strong>Scope 1, 2, 3 categories<\/strong> including supply chain, product use, end-of-life, water, and waste measurements.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Data Framework Design:<\/strong> Design and implement <strong>data collection frameworks<\/strong> across suppliers, logistics, product development, and retail channels to capture indirect emissions. Identify opportunities for automation and building data pipelines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Analysis &amp; Target Setting:<\/strong> Analyze emissions data to identify hotspots, trends, benchmark performance, and support <strong>target-setting<\/strong> (e.g., science-based targets) and informed decision-making.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Visualization &amp; Reporting:<\/strong> Develop <strong>data visualizations and dashboards<\/strong> (using Power BI, etc.) to monitor sustainability KPIs. Prepare and present sustainability reports, papers, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Compliance &amp; Insight:<\/strong> Partner with the Global Social Responsibility team, staying current on <strong>ESG reporting standards and regulations<\/strong> (e.g., <strong>CSRD, SEC climate disclosure<\/strong>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Modeling &amp; Forecasting:<\/strong> Develop a framework to <strong>model impact<\/strong> and\/or <strong>forecast future performance<\/strong> of future initiatives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u200bRequired Skills and Experience<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u200bSuccess requires specialized experience in environmental accounting, data management, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u200b<strong>Specialized Experience:<\/strong> <strong>3+ years of experience<\/strong> in data analysis or sustainability reporting. Experience in <strong>Green House Gas Accounting (Scope 1, 2, 3 emissions)<\/strong> and water &amp; waste data tracking.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>GHG Tools (Preferred):<\/strong> Experience with <strong>GHG accounting software<\/strong> (e.g., Carbonfact, Worldly) preferred.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Compliance Knowledge (Preferred):<\/strong> Familiarity with <strong>ESG standards<\/strong> and experience with <strong>VPPA\u2019s and\/or renewable energy<\/strong> preferred.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Technical Proficiency:<\/strong> Advanced experience and proficiency using <strong>Excel, PowerPoint\/Keynote, Word, Power BI<\/strong>, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Soft Skills:<\/strong> Demonstrated ability to execute programs that achieve sustainability goals. Ability to <strong>persuade and influence, without having direct authority<\/strong>, to drive solutions.
