This role serves as the highest escalation point, requiring in-depth diagnostic support for API consumers, backend systems, and integration middleware, ensuring resilience and service restoration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u200b<strong>Location:<\/strong> Fully Remote (US).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Clearance:<\/strong> Must hold an <strong>active Top Secret clearance<\/strong> (supported by a Tier 5 background investigation).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Experience:<\/strong> Minimum <strong>6 years<\/strong> in API support, backend troubleshooting, or application technical support.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Certifications (Required):<\/strong> <strong>ITIL v4 Foundation<\/strong> and <strong>CompTIA Security+<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Focus:<\/strong> Resolving Tier 3 escalations, data mapping, authentication issues (OAuth2, SAML, JWT), root cause analysis, and validating API behavior against OpenAPI\/Swagger specifications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u200bDuties &amp; Responsibilities: Escalation, Diagnosis, and Validation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\u200bThe engineer provides expert-level diagnosis and acts as a key liaison between support and development teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u200b<strong>Complex Resolution:<\/strong> Resolve complex API issues escalated from Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, including endpoint failures, schema mismatches, and authentication problems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Triage &amp; RCA:<\/strong> Triage enterprise-wide API incidents, diagnose data mapping issues, payload inconsistencies, and transformation logic errors. Perform <strong>root cause analysis (RCA)<\/strong> by collecting logs and analyzing error patterns.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>API Validation:<\/strong> <strong>Validate API behavior against OpenAPI\/Swagger specifications<\/strong>, schemas, and version requirements. Assist in testing API changes prior to deployment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Cross-Functional Partnership:<\/strong> Work closely with development, integration, cloud, and cybersecurity teams to reproduce issues, validate fixes, and address security concerns (OAuth2, SAML, JWT).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Documentation &amp; Governance:<\/strong> Document findings and resolutions in the knowledge base. Participate in <strong>Change Control Board (CCB)<\/strong> processes when fixes affect production integrations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u200bRequired Technical Knowledge<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\u200bThe role requires strong foundational knowledge of API architecture, security, and enterprise environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u200b<strong>API Fundamentals:<\/strong> Strong knowledge of <strong>REST APIs<\/strong>, endpoint communication, and data structures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Integration Troubleshooting:<\/strong> Experience diagnosing and resolving API defects, schema mismatches, and integration failures. Familiarity with middleware, integration layers, and message brokers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Security &amp; Specs:<\/strong> Experience troubleshooting <strong>authentication and authorization flows (OAuth2, SAML, JWT)<\/strong>. Experience working with <strong>JSON schemas, OpenAPI\/Swagger specifications<\/strong>, and API documentation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Logging &amp; Monitoring:<\/strong> Experience <strong>analyzing logs<\/strong> from API gateways, application servers, or integration pipelines.
