The engineer serves as an advanced service engineer, technical expert, and mentor, driving root cause analysis for difficult issues and improving system concepts in the clean energy sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u200b<strong>Location:<\/strong> Remote (Rocklin, CA headquarters hub; position utilizes a dedicated <strong>hybrid schedule<\/strong>\u2014in-office Tuesday and Thursday, remote Mon, Wed, Fri).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Salary Range:<\/strong> $82,000.00 &#8211; $108,000.00.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Experience:<\/strong> At least <strong>3\u20135 years<\/strong> in a technical support role, and at least <strong>3 years of experience in power plant system commissioning<\/strong> is required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Focus:<\/strong> Advanced troubleshooting (Tier 3), root cause analysis for power plant level and communication problems, serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), and coordinating technical escalations globally via Jira.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u200bPrimary Duties: Expert Support and System Improvement<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\u200bThe engineer provides the highest level of technical escalation support and drives internal improvements in product design and service capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u200b<strong>Advanced Service:<\/strong> Serves as an advanced service engineer for all <strong>SMA large scale products<\/strong>, conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis to determine root cause during technical escalations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Technical Support &amp; Coordination:<\/strong> Provides high-level support for difficult and unresolved customer inquiries, coordinating with customers and <strong>SMA\u2019s Global Competency Center<\/strong> via the <strong>JIRA ticket system<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Mentorship &amp; Training:<\/strong> Serves as an expert technical resource and <strong>mentor<\/strong> for second-level Contact Center agents and Field Service staff. Creates <strong>work instructions and training material<\/strong> to elevate technical skills across the Global Service Organization.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>R&amp;D Interface:<\/strong> As required, serves as the interface with Research &amp; Development to optimize the design, performance, and serviceability of large scale products.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>SME Role:<\/strong> Performs as a Global Virtual team resource serving as a <strong>Subject Matter Expert (SME)<\/strong> for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of failures across R&amp;D, Quality, Supply Chain, and Global Service.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u200bRequired and Preferred Qualifications<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\u200bThe role requires a strong background in electrical engineering and practical experience in the solar energy field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u200b<strong>Education:<\/strong> Bachelor\u2019s degree in <strong>electrical engineering is preferred<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>PV\/Solar Expertise (Required):<\/strong> Advanced knowledge of solar electric (PV) installation, system design, and\/or inspection is <strong>required<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Commissioning Experience (Required):<\/strong> At least <strong>3 years of experience in power plant system commissioning<\/strong> is required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Technical Skills (Required):<\/strong> Advanced technical troubleshooting skills, advanced knowledge of engineering and mathematical concepts, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Preferred Skills:<\/strong> Advanced knowledge of <strong>power plant measurement devices and techniques<\/strong>, and the ability to work nonstandard business hours occasionally.
