This role ensures the reliability and efficiency of mission-critical UNIX environments and supports system migrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u200b<strong>Location:<\/strong> <strong>100% Remote<\/strong> <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Job Type:<\/strong> Contract<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Experience (Mandatory):<\/strong> Minimum <strong>five (5) years&#8217; experience<\/strong> with server infrastructure in an Enterprise environment, including <strong>five (5) years specifically with IBM AIX<\/strong> and its components (<strong>PowerHA, HMC, VIOS, PowerVM<\/strong>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Focus:<\/strong> AIX lifecycle management, virtualization (PowerVM), security hardening (NIST\/compliance), administration of RHEL systems, and supporting migrations to x86 or Cloud environments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u200b<strong>Key Responsibilities: AIX Focus and Security Hardening<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\u200bThe administrator&#8217;s primary duties center on advanced administration of the IBM Power Systems environment and security compliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u200b<strong>AIX\/IBM Administration:<\/strong> Perform day-to-day administration, maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting of <strong>AIX systems, VIOS, HMC&#8217;s, and Managed Systems<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Virtualization &amp; HA:<\/strong> Provision and manage AIX virtual server builds using <strong>PowerVM technology<\/strong>. Administer AIX LPARs configured as part of a <strong>PowerHA cluster<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Lifecycle Management:<\/strong> Manage <strong>IBM Power lifecycle migrations<\/strong>, including planning, execution, and validation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Security &amp; Hardening:<\/strong> Conduct <strong>vulnerability assessments and implement remediation strategies<\/strong> to secure AIX\/IBM environments. Hardening Operating Systems to meet information security standards.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>RHEL and Migrations:<\/strong> Administer, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot <strong>Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)<\/strong> systems.
