This role requires managing, maintaining, and optimizing highly available and secure enterprise networks and software systems, with a mandatory focus on compliance with stringent DoD security protocols.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u200b<strong>Location:<\/strong> <strong>Remote<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Clearance:<\/strong> Ability to obtain a <strong>Top Secret\/SCI clearance<\/strong> is required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Certification:<\/strong> Must hold an <strong>Active DoD IAT Level II certification<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Experience:<\/strong> <strong>Three (3) years<\/strong> of professional experience in Windows system administration of networks and software systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Focus:<\/strong> System administration across both Windows and Unix\/Linux, cybersecurity compliance (<strong>STIGs, RMF<\/strong>), disaster recovery, performance tuning, and providing Tier III support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u200bKey Responsibilities: Security, Compliance, and Operations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\u200bThe administrator\u2019s duties span daily operations, adherence to military security standards, and supporting automation efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u200b<strong>System Administration (Dual Focus):<\/strong> Administer, maintain, and optimize both <strong>Unix\/Linux<\/strong> and <strong>Windows<\/strong> servers to ensure high availability and performance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Security &amp; Compliance:<\/strong> Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in compliance with <strong>DoD security policies<\/strong>. Collaborate with cybersecurity personnel to ensure systems meet compliance requirements such as <strong>STIGs and RMF controls<\/strong>. Assist with vulnerability scanning, patch validation, and remediation efforts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Maintenance &amp; Recovery:<\/strong> Implement and monitor system backups, <strong>disaster recovery, and business continuity processes<\/strong>. Perform system installations, upgrades, and patches in accordance with approved change control procedures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Troubleshooting &amp; Support:<\/strong> Monitor system performance and capacity, identifying and resolving technical issues proactively. Provide <strong>Tier III support<\/strong> and mentorship to junior administrators.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Automation:<\/strong> Support automation efforts using scripting languages (e.g., <strong>Bash, Python, Ansible<\/strong>) to streamline administrative tasks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Availability:<\/strong> Participate in <strong>after-hours maintenance windows and on-call rotations<\/strong> to support mission-critical systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u200bRequired Qualifications: Clearance, Certification, and Technical Depth<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u200b<strong>Clearance\/Certification:<\/strong> Required to obtain a <strong>Top Secret\/SCI clearance<\/strong> and possess an <strong>Active DoD IAT Level II certification<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Experience:<\/strong> Three years of professional experience, including system backup\/recovery, basic software management, security and library management, and sizing\/performance tuning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b<strong>Technical Knowledge:<\/strong> Experience with network protocols including <strong>TCP\/IP<\/strong>. Qualified experience with major network security tools such as <strong>firewalls<\/strong>.
