This role is a subject matter expert and technical lead, ensuring streamlined workflows and facilitating user access to resources across W&amp;M and its consortium partners (Colonial Williamsburg and Richard Bland College).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Location:<\/strong> <strong>William &amp; Mary, Williamsburg, VA (Not eligible for fully remote work)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Work Arrangement:<\/strong> Requires an <strong>on-site presence<\/strong> (with telework possible once per week).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Hiring Range:<\/strong> <strong>$65,000 \u2013 $80,000<\/strong> commensurate with experience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Focus:<\/strong> Administration of Alma\/Primo VE, ILLiad, and system integration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Responsibilities: System Management and Consortium Collaboration<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The administrator is critical for technical maintenance, workflow optimization, and liaising between library staff, campus IT, and vendors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Core Systems Administration:<\/strong> Responsible for support and administration of a suite of library systems,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\\<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> including <strong>Alma\/Primo VE<\/strong> (ExLibris library services platform), <strong>ILLiad<\/strong> (Interlibrary Loan), <strong>LibApps<\/strong>, <strong>OpenAthens<\/strong>, and others.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Workflow &amp; Integration:<\/strong> Engage in problem-solving and <strong>workflow assessment<\/strong> in close collaboration with library staff and consortia partners to support streamlined processes. Facilitate system integration projects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Vendor &amp; Advocacy:<\/strong> Serve as the <strong>lead contact with systems vendors<\/strong>, troubleshoot bugs, and advocate with vendors regarding issue resolutions and feature requests.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Reporting &amp; Data:<\/strong> Prepare and maintain reports and statistical data reports for external requirements (<strong>ACRL, IPEDS<\/strong>, etc.).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Technical Optimization:<\/strong> Keep abreast of proposed and new functionality to expand system capabilities. Focus on <strong>user experience<\/strong> to inform design decisions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Required Qualifications: Technical &amp; Metadata Foundation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Candidates must have experience with web technologies, programming, and core metadata standards essential to library systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Technical Skills:<\/strong> Experience with web technologies: <strong>HTML, CSS, and JavaScript<\/strong>, and at least <strong>one programming language<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Metadata Knowledge:<\/strong> Knowledge of relevant metadata standards such as <strong>MARC, Dublin Core, XML, and\/or OpenURL<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Analytical Skills:<\/strong> Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and apply complex policies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Communication:<\/strong> Strong interpersonal communication, customer service, and group facilitation skills, demonstrating patience and collegiality.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preferred Qualifications<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Experience:<\/strong> Experience providing support and management for <strong>ExLibris Alma and Primo VE<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Programming:<\/strong> Competency and understanding of at least <strong>2 programming languages<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Industry:<\/strong> Two years\u2019 experience in an <strong>academic or research institution<\/strong> setting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>William &amp; Mary Libraries is seeking a Library Systems Administrator to manage and optimize its essential suite of library systems.
