This role requires a blend of technical expertise, in-depth security and compliance knowledge, and strong automation skills (PowerShell) to maintain a highly regulated cloud environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Location:<\/strong> <strong>United States (Remote)<\/strong> &#8211; Part of Akamai&#8217;s FlexBase program.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Salary Range:<\/strong> <strong>$74,700 &#8211; $155,300\/year<\/strong> (US base salary range).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Focus:<\/strong> M365 Administration, Security, Compliance, and Government Cloud Environments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Responsibilities: Compliance, Automation, and Advanced Support<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You will serve as the technical backbone for the M365 tenant, ensuring it adheres to stringent government regulations while optimizing performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>M365 Administration:<\/strong> Perform <strong>advanced administration<\/strong> of the M365 tenant and its core services (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive), managing user\/license management, security policies, and application access.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Security &amp; Compliance:<\/strong> Manage security settings and compliance features using <strong>Microsoft 365 security and compliance centers<\/strong> to ensure strict adherence to government standards.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Automation:<\/strong> Develop and implement <strong>PowerShell scripts<\/strong> to automate repetitive operational tasks, including user onboarding\/offboarding, reporting, and standardized configurations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Troubleshooting:<\/strong> Serve as a technical resource, troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues, and performing <strong>root cause analysis (RCA)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Collaboration:<\/strong> Work with security, development, and end-user teams to integrate M365 with other systems and provide technical guidance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Requirements: Government Cloud Expertise<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The role requires specific experience with Microsoft&#8217;s cloud offerings tailored for government clients and a deep understanding of M365&#8217;s security suite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Experience:<\/strong> <strong>5 years of relevant experience<\/strong> and a Bachelor&#8217;s degree or equivalent.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Core M365 Knowledge:<\/strong> Knowledge of core M365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Identity &amp; Access:<\/strong> Experience with <strong>Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory)<\/strong>, including hybrid environments, user provisioning, and conditional access policies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Security Stack:<\/strong> Experience with <strong>Microsoft Purview, Defender, and Information Protection<\/strong>, and a strong understanding of data governance and government compliance standards.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Government Cloud:<\/strong> <strong>Experience with GCC or GCC High tenants is often required<\/strong>, due to their specific security and compliance needs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Automation:<\/strong> Proven experience in <strong>PowerShell for automating administrative tasks<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Akamai is seeking a Systems Administrator II to join its IT Support team and manage the secure, compliant, and efficient operation of Microsoft 365 (M365) services for government agencies.
